Q: What is Resident Permit (RP)?
A: Resident Permit is a term for legal authorization that allows you to work and stay in the country. This is also known as work permit/visa. RP is valid for 1 year and is renewable every year.

Q: How can I obtain Resident Permit (RP)?
A: Residence or Work Permit can be obtained by local sponsors only.

Q: How can I obtain sponsorship?
A: All foreigners (non-Qatari) require a sponsor in order to visit the country whether on holiday or business, or live and work in Qatar. Q: How can I get RP Card?
A: Application for RP cards are made after arrival in Qatar through the Immigration Departments. Your sponsor will take all necessary formalities to get your RP Card done. It is essential for permanent residents in Qatar to obtain an identity card or RP card when dealing with Goverment ministries.

Q: How long will it take to get an RP done?
A: Normally, RPs are available after 6 weeks of arrival.

Q: What Exit Permit?
A:  Exit Permit is required when you exit the country only when you are in visa other than tourist/visit or temporary business visa.
